Teaching excellence

Our highly competent and dedicated teaching team delivers a full range of programs to equip our students for future success at university, TAFE and other vocational programs or employment. Our team also includes dance and art tutors who have experienced professional success in the community.

Wide range of courses

Balcatta Senior High School recognises that student's needs, interests and talents vary widely. As a result, we offer a wide range of courses to enrich your child's educational experience.

Years 8-10

Students in Years 8 to 10 have eight learning areas:

The Arts
English
Health and Physical Education
Languages Other Than English (LOTE)
Mathematics
Science
Society and Environment
Technology and Enterprise

Years 11-12

More than 50 exciting and innovative courses are offered to students in Years 11 and 12.

Wide choice of subjects for students choosing a pathway to university or TAFE.
Vocationally orientated programs including INSTEP (Inovative Skills Training and Education Program) and VET (Vocational Education and Training).
Students spend one day a week in a structured workplace and have the opportunity to undertake traineeships and apprenticeships.
